Hilary Thomson
Coach
Hilary is a strong advocate of equality and has a strong sense of justice. Having grown up in Kenya Hilary was a minority being the only white family in a Hindu school and ostracised from the expat community. She has always felt different, struggled to fit in and find her place. Â
Â
Hilary came to London at the age of 21 from the small island of Mombasa. It was a huge change and took some adjustment. She worked her way up to the role of Project Manager and then spent the next 20+ years working with founders and directors of award winning businesses from software companies, recruitment and education.
Â
Having experienced a toxic culture in the workplace Hilary sought out a coach to help her navigate her career and life direction. It was this that made her decide to become a coach. Hilary trained with an internationally recognised coaching organisation and is accredited with International Coaching Foundation and has coached circa 500+ leaders and executives.Â
Â
Hilary works with leaders, future leaders and changemakers in SMEs, start ups and solopreneurs helping them embody a high-performance mindset to achieve lofty goals. She helps leaders connect with their values, recognise their strengths, celebrate their achievements and set goals and workplace cultures that are resilient and rewarding.
Â
Hilary’s clients come out of the sessions with a sense of understanding themselves better, clarity to take the next step thinking bigger and bolder about their future. Hilary creates a psychologically safe place where clients can be open and share their thoughts and feelings without judgement. They value the space and time to think about patterns of behaviour to enable them to change things that don’t serve them.
Â
Hilary is very interested in how culture changes organisations and how having a robust emotional foundation can make for a happy, diverse workforce which produces greater revenue, staff retention and breaks the stereotypes of traditional workplaces. Hilary is a trained Riders & Elephants culture practitioner.
