Hi! I'm Jitesh, I started life on a council estate. My parents were immigrants who worked hard, saved harder.
When I was eight, they moved us to a suburb with better schools. It was the best thing they could have done for my future. And the moment I stopped fitting in.
The new school was almost entirely white. I was one of three Asian kids.
At home, life was Indian: the food, the language, the expectations. Outside, I learned quickly how to move through a world that hadn't been built with me in mind. I got good at it. Too good at it, probably. I'm still figuring out the balance. But I understand what it costs to navigate spaces that weren't designed for you. And I understand what it means to lead from that position, because I've been doing it my whole life. It's also what drives my work as a leadership coach for senior managers and emerging leaders across the UK.
I studied Physics with Astrophysics. Academia wasn't for me, I wasn't going to be the next Stephen Hawking. But it took me somewhere I hadn't expected. In the summers I operated rides at a fairground in California, travelled coast to coast, did an internship at Caltech, spent a month in India. Between my first and second job, Australia and New Zealand. I wasn't running away. I was figuring out who I was when nobody was watching. And I found that I was someone who found people more interesting than problems.
That realisation changed everything about how I worked.
I was good at the technical work. But I kept noticing that the analysis was just a guide. People were the ones actually making the decisions. Once I saw that, my perception of the world changed. That led to mentoring, then coaching. ILM Level 7 qualified. Five years working with senior professionals and emerging leaders across a range of sectors in the UK.
That's why I do this.
